Fraxel® lasers treat thousands of microscopic areas of skin at once. The laser beams remove old, damaged skin cells and trigger the body’s healing response, which prompts new collagen production and reveals fresher skin.

Before & After

How It Works
How your skin looks and feels depends on your genetics, lifestyle and history. Your physician can build a treatment plan around your skin’s needs to improve its tone and texture. Fraxel® lasers target 5 to 50 percent of the treated surface and leave intact skin behind, which speeds healing. That precision makes the laser safe for delicate areas such as the neck, décolletage, hands and face.
Results come in two stages. Right after the first stage of healing, skin looks softer and brighter as tone evens out. Progressive results appear over the next 3 to 6 months as the deeper tissue layers heal.

Fraxel® works by provoking the skin’s own healing response. Depending on your lifestyle and skin condition, you can choose how to approach treatment.
Aggressive treatments need fewer sessions but bring more pronounced side effects, including social downtime. Less aggressive treatments reach the same results over more sessions with milder side effects. Some skin types and conditions respond best to gentle, repeated treatments; others call for a more aggressive approach.
Fraxel® lasers give your physician precise control, so treatment can be matched to each patient’s needs.
Fraxel® treatment can help you reach the skin you want. The first step is yours.

Dermabrasion works well for superficial acne scarring. Deeper scars respond better to Fraxel® laser treatment or excision (removal via incision.) The Fraxel® laser improves texture by prompting your body’s own collagen production. Excision removes the deep hole and replaces it with a nearly invisible flat line. Dermabrasion can then smooth that line.

FAQ
Yes, The Fraxel® laser has received FDA clearance for treatment of the following:
It varies by skin, but clinical trials suggest most people reach maximum results in 3 to 5 sessions. Treatments are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on how quickly the skin recovers.
Topical anesthetics are applied prior to the procedure and cold air application is also used during the procedure to minimize discomfort at the treatment site. Following the treatment, the majority of patients report experiencing what feels like a minor sunburn. This feeling typically fades in 1 to 3 hours.
Expect some redness and swelling afterward. Intensity and duration depend on how aggressive your treatment was and on how your skin type heals. Other temporary effects can include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking, and a bronzed look. Your surgeon will give you instructions to help minimize them.
Apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the healing process, which lasts for at least 3 months following your last treatment. We also suggest wearing a wide-brimmed hat if you plan on being outdoors during the day.
How long the improvement lasts depends on your condition and how well you care for your skin. Keep following the precautions above. If melasma was treated, avoid direct sun in particular. Your physician will advise you based on your skin type and needs.

Fraxel at Allure took years off my skin. The sun damage and fine lines are dramatically better and my tone is so even now. The staff walked me through aftercare perfectly.Helen S., Google Review
