Neck Lift in NYC and Staten Island

Allure Plastic Surgery

With age, the skin on the neck sags and fat pockets, called submental fat, begin to appear. The result is a less-defined jawline and a double chin. Some patients also develop vertical neck banding and lose definition along the neckline.

A neck lift is designed to correct these concerns and provide a defined jawline and a more attractive, smooth neckline. At Allure Plastic Surgery, our surgeons will determine exactly what is needed to achieve your aesthetic goals during your confidential consultation. In general, a neck lift includes a combination of liposuction, skin tightening, ultrasound technology, and laser therapy to achieve stunning results that appear completely natural.

Where is the Incision Placed During My Neck Lift?

We offer non-surgical options for patients who would rather avoid incisions. A surgical procedure delivers the most significant results. Incision size and placement vary from patient to patient based on what your result requires.

A surgical neck lift may need only one incision, but typically requires three small ones, placed to keep scarring minimal. One goes under your chin to remove submental fat and tighten the neck muscles. Another is placed behind each ear to further tighten the muscles and remove excess skin.

Benefits

What are Some of the Benefits of a Neck Lift?

A neck lift offers several benefits for patients who want to refresh their appearance.

  • A more youthful, defined jawline and neck contour
  • Reduction of submental fat, or a double chin
  • Reduction of “turkey neck”
  • Reduced neck banding
  • A better fit in collared shirts
  • Minimal scarring
  • A boost in self-confidence

How Do I Get Started With A Neck Lift?

We begin with a confidential, detailed consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.

During your consultation you'll have a physical examination. Your surgeon will discuss your concerns, questions, and goals, and review your surgical and medical history. Your doctor builds a treatment plan to reach your goal, whether surgical, non-surgical, or a combination of both.

You'll also review our before and after gallery so you know what to expect. We may use 3D imaging to project your outcome.

You can combine other treatments with your neck lift. Combining procedures can mean less downtime and lower costs, so you may want to add a facelift, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, or fat transfer if you are already considering them.

Are the Scars Visible?

As with any surgery, there will be scars where the incisions were made. Neck lift incisions heal into thin lines, hidden in the natural folds of your chin and ears. This makes them very difficult to see, and often hard to find at all.

Our surgeons use current techniques to minimize scarring while sculpting the neckline.

Neck Lift Recovery Time

A nonsurgical neck lift involves little to no recovery time. Most patients return to work or normal activities the next day and are fully healed in about a week.

A surgical neck lift takes longer. Depending on the extent of your procedure, expect to rest at home for a few days and take one to two weeks off work. Avoid straining or moving your neck, keep your head elevated, and sleep with a supportive pillow.

I had a neck lift with Dr. Heller and the difference is unreal. My jawline looks the way it did fifteen years ago and nobody can tell I had anything done. He really listens.Dana K., Google Review
