Breast Lift with Implants
Proudly serving New York City, Manhattan, Staten Island, Long Island & nearby areas of New York
The breasts, like other aspects of the body and face, go through many changes during our lives. With aging and gravity, comes a loss of youthful perkiness. Childbirth often results in a deflated appearance. Also, while weight loss can be flattering for most of the body, it often results in breasts that appear droopy and flat. For such patients, breast implants combined with a lift, or mastopexy, can provide just the right amount of lift and fullness.
Dr. Heller and Dr. Haramis have vast experience and training with this procedure. Every individual benefits from a different level of lifting. They will spend as much time as it takes to personally examine you and discuss what type of implants and breast lift incision is best for you while making sure you are comfortable with the plan that has been created for your unique case. Please call (212) 661-2563 to schedule a free consultation to learn more about your breast lift options in New York City, including Staten Island, Long Island and Manhattan.
How Will the Implant Lift My Breast?
The implant is a means to recreate fullness in the upper breast. If it is too large it can make if difficult to close the incisions of the lift, which is what creates the greatest improvement. The breast lift incisions are divided into three types:
- Periareolar (around the nipple) for minimal sagging
- Circumvertical or lollipop (around the nipple with a vertical extension) for moderate sagging
- Inverted T or anchor incision (around the nipple with a vertical extension plus horizontal extension) for severe sagging
The goal of Dr. Heller and Dr. Haramis is always to make the smallest incision possible, but some cases require larger incisions to achieve the best possible results. You will be aware of the type and size of the incision required prior to your procedure. Breast lifts are performed in one of our accredited surgery centers in New York under closely monitored IV sedation or general anesthesia. You will be discharged and free to return home the same day of your procedure with a bandage and wrap or sports bra in place. Some tenderness and bruising is common after a breast lift, but the symptoms are easily controlled with the prescribed medications. Normal activity can resume in about a week, and strenuous activity can begin in 2-3 weeks.
Combining a breast augmentation with a lift is a popular procedure combination that delivers nice improvements for a wide range of patients. It is very important to have realistic expectations when it comes to final results. While we cannot completely turn back the clock to your days of youth, we can certainly make nice, natural improvements.
