Dr. Elliot Heller, MD sees consultations here and performs surgery in our AAAHC-accredited operating suite, the same standard of accreditation a hospital outpatient department holds. Consultations are free and there is no obligation to book anything at the end of one.
The practice has three offices: this one, Staten Island, and Edison, New Jersey. Which one you use is a matter of convenience. Your surgeon, your surgical plan and your follow-up care are the same wherever you are seen, and many patients consult at one office and have surgery at another.

What Is Different About Being Treated Here
Dr. Heller performs the operation himself
He does the consultation, the surgery and every follow-up. In 20 years of practice he has performed more than 10,000 procedures, and none of that work was delegated to a fellow or a resident.
Surgery happens in our own operating suite
Your procedure is done in our AAAHC-accredited facility with board-certified anesthesiologists on site. There is no hospital admission and no shared operating schedule, and you go home the same day.
You get his cell phone number
Every surgical patient leaves with Dr. Heller's personal cell number. A question at 10 pm the night before surgery gets answered by the person operating on you.

Meet Dr. Elliot Heller, MD
Dr. Heller trained in head and neck surgery at NYU Medical Center and in plastic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a founding member of the American Academy of Aesthetic and Restorative Surgery, and he owns Allure Plastic Surgery, which he has run across Manhattan, Staten Island and New Jersey for 20 years.
He operates on his own patients. That sounds obvious and in a large Manhattan practice it often is not: consultations get delegated, surgery gets shared, and follow-up lands with whoever is available. Here the person who assesses you is the person holding the instrument and the person who answers the phone six weeks later.
He will also tell you when a procedure is the wrong idea, or when a smaller one would get you what you actually want. Patients who have already seen two or three surgeons tend to notice that conversation, because nobody has had it with them yet.
Accreditation
Our Upper East Side Surgical Facility
Surgery here takes place in our own operating suite, accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. That accreditation covers the things you cannot see on a tour: sterilization protocols, emergency equipment and drugs, staff credentialing, recovery monitoring and the record-keeping behind all of it.
Board-certified anesthesiologists administer and monitor sedation, with continuous vital-sign tracking throughout. Almost every procedure we perform is same-day, so you sleep at home the first night.
You are welcome to see the facility before you commit to anything. Ask at your consultation and we will walk you through it.
From First Call to Final Follow-Up

Free consultation
You describe what bothers you, Dr. Heller examines you, and you look at before-and-after photographs of past patients. Ask to see results on people built like you, because those are the ones that tell you anything.

A written plan and a real number
The procedure, the anesthesia, the facility fee and the follow-ups, itemized. Financing is arranged in the office if you want it.

Pre-operative clearance
Bloodwork and medical clearance, plus a specific list of medications and supplements to stop and when. Most complications that can be prevented are prevented here.

Surgery day
You meet your anesthesiologist, and for almost every procedure we perform you go home the same day. Arrange a driver in advance. You leave with written instructions and Dr. Heller's cell number.

Follow-up
Follow-up visits are scheduled across your healing period, with the schedule set for your procedure. Swelling and numbness last longer than most patients expect, and you will be told what is normal at each visit so you are not guessing.

Is surgery performed at the Manhattan office or somewhere else?
In our own operating suite, accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Board-certified anesthesiologists are on site. Nearly every procedure is same-day, so there is no hospital admission and you recover at home.
Who will actually be performing my surgery?

Does the consultation cost anything?
No. Consultations are free and carry no obligation. You leave with an examination, a plan and an itemized price.
How much will my procedure cost?
It depends on the procedure, the extent of the work and the anesthesia required, so any figure quoted before an examination would be a guess. You get an exact itemized number at the consultation, before you decide anything. We offer financing through Affirm, Cherry and CareCredit.
Can I consult in Manhattan and have surgery in Staten Island?
Yes, and plenty of patients do. All three offices share the same surgeons and the same AAAHC-accredited facilities. Use whichever combination is easier for you and for whoever is driving you home.
Do you see patients from outside New York?
Yes. Out-of-town and international patients are common here. We can begin with a virtual consultation, group the pre-operative appointments into one trip, and tell you honestly how long you need to stay in the city before flying.
How long before I can go back to work?
It depends entirely on the procedure. Injectables are same-day. Eyelid surgery is usually about a week before you are comfortable being seen. A tummy tuck or a body lift takes several weeks. You will get a specific answer for your procedure at the consultation, and it is worth planning your time off before you book a date.
Is the Manhattan office private?
Our surgery center is built around comfort, convenience and privacy. Patients who need particular discretion should say so when booking and we will schedule accordingly.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
A list of your medications and supplements, your medical and surgical history, any records from previous procedures in the same area, and photographs of results you like and results you do not. The last one is more useful than most patients expect.
