Why NY Residents Choose Dr. Heller for Liposuction

Liposuction results vary significantly between surgeons. The same procedure, performed differently, produces different outcomes. Patients travel to Dr. Elliot Heller at Allure Plastic Surgery from across New York because his technique produces results that look like you were always this way.

What actually makes one surgeon's liposuction better than another's? It comes down to training, positioning, and attention to what happens to the skin after fat is removed.

The Training Behind the Technique

Dr. Heller's plastic surgery background shapes how he thinks about body contouring. Before removing any fat, he considers how the body naturally holds its proportions and how those proportions will shift as fat is taken away.

My plastic surgery training helps me understand the natural contour of the human body, and how to shape it to get the maximum benefit while maintaining natural proportions.

This matters because liposuction can easily go wrong when a surgeon focuses only on removing fat without considering the body's overall shape. The goal is a natural result that maintains your proportions.

Multi-Angle Positioning During the Procedure

One of the most overlooked differences between surgeons is how they position the patient during liposuction. Some surgeons work from a fixed position, reaching across the body to access different areas. Dr. Heller takes a different approach.

During liposuction, I turn the patient at different positions and angles to get the maximum amount of fat without distorting the skin. Other surgeons sometimes just reach over from one position. That doesn't produce the same result.

Repositioning takes more time. But it allows even fat removal across the treatment area, which prevents the lumps, dips, and asymmetry that patients often see when liposuction is done too quickly.

Skin Texture and Tightening

Fat removal is only half the equation. What happens to the skin afterward determines whether the result looks smooth or irregular.

Dr. Heller routinely addresses skin texture during the same procedure. When a patient has loose skin or is at risk of skin laxity after fat removal, he combines techniques.

We also concentrate on skin texture and make sure if there is loose skin to perform laser Liposuction at the same time and very often with the J Plasma that tightens the skin.

Laser liposuction uses thermal energy to liquefy fat before removal, which also stimulates collagen production in the skin. J Plasma uses helium plasma to contract and tighten skin from beneath the surface. Combining both gives patients smoother contours than traditional liposuction alone.

Fixing Bad Liposuction Results from Other Surgeons

Some patients come to Dr. Heller not for a first procedure, but to fix liposuction that went wrong elsewhere. Revision cases require a different mindset than primary liposuction. The tissue has already been manipulated, and scar tissue complicates the anatomy.

When a patient comes to us from another surgeon with a bad result from liposuction, we evaluate the whole structure, including skin, fat, and muscle. There is usually distortion and unevenness from liposuction that was not performed correctly.

His approach to revision starts with diagnosis. What exactly went wrong? Is the problem excess fat, scarred fat, loose skin, or a combination? Only after understanding the full picture does he plan the correction.

We elevate the skin and use laser energy to smooth out any uneven bumps. If there is residual fat, we remove it to get an even result.

He addresses each layer separately: the skin, then the underlying fat. The result is smooth contour where before there were lumps and irregularities.

What to Consider When Choosing a Liposuction Surgeon

If you are researching liposuction in New York, the questions worth asking go beyond credentials and before-and-after photos.

  • Does the surgeon reposition you during the procedure, or work from one angle?
  • What happens if your skin is loose? Is skin tightening offered during the same session?
  • How does the surgeon handle uneven areas or stubborn pockets?
  • What is the approach to revision cases? Do they take patients who had poor results elsewhere?

The answers tell you more than any before-and-after gallery.
