Dr. Sewell obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University and attended medical school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. After completing a one-year clinical training program at the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers Medical School, he was accepted into the General Surgery Residency Program at King’s County Hospital-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He was selected to take part in the center’s prestigious Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program where he acquired extensive training in all aspects of aesthetic, hand, trauma and burn reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Sewell was also an attending physician in King’s County Hospital’s trauma department and a plastic surgery clinical instructor at the Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Sewell opened his Rockland County, NY private practice in 1983 while on staff at both the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern and Nyack Hospital. Notably, he was the first plastic surgeon in Rockland County to offer his patients ambulatory cosmetic surgery in his state-of-the-art operating room where for more than 15 years he performed surgeries that included face lifts and rhinoplasty in New York.
His continued interest in surgical and medical technology led him to become a qualified specialist in Mesotherapy. During his training he was privileged to study under Dr. Alain Gondinet, a renowned French expert. Dr. Sewell is also certified by the International College of MesoPlus®, which makes him able to offer not only surgical, but also non-surgical alternatives for body contouring and facial rejuvenation to his cosmetic and liposuction patients in NY.
